Theater Rental

Building Rates*

Non-Profit (SC only) Commercial/Other

Full Day: $1,300
Non-Event Day: $700
Part Day: $700 (5 hours)
                $400 (2 hours)

Full Day: $2,000
Non-Event Day: $1,000
Part Day: $1,000 (5 hours)
                 $600  (2 hours)

*For use of kitchen prep area, add $100 to use the contracted area with space restored to its original condition.


Rate Definitions

Full-Day Rate—Use of the contracted area from 8 a.m.–11:59 p.m. with space restored to its original configuration.
Non-Event Day Rate—Use of the contracted area for load-in, tech, rehearsals, dark days (days where the show is set up but no activity is scheduled). This reduced rate is contingent upon the lobby, the area in front of the curtain, and the audience chamber is available to rent to others.
Part-Day Rate—Use of the contracted area for no more than 5 consecutive hours, with space restored to its original configuration. Any use of the contracted area over the 5 hours will default to the full-day rate for that area.
Discount Rate—10% off the applicable day rate for rentals of 3 or more days.


Personnel Charges

Technical Support Staff $30/hr (must be on site from load-in to load-out)
House Manager $25/hr (arrives 2 hours before event start time)
Building Security $20/hr (after 5 p.m.)
Fire Security $30/hr

*All labor for events on a national holiday are charged double-time.


Ticket Office Charges

Commission* 10% of final ticket price (min. of $1.00 per ticket)
Ticket Set-up $50 per performance (includes online sales set-up)
Ticket Print Charge $0.25 per ticket (comp tickets only)
Credit Card Charges 3% assessed on all credit card receipts
Extended Hours $15 per hour per person (usually 2 people); no charge for the first two hours day of show

*The commission is charged whether the tickets are sold in the ticket office or elsewhere.

Lycean Follow Spot (does not include operator) $25 each per event
Portable PA System w/ 2 Mics & CD Player $100 per event (operator additional if needed)
Baby Grand Piano $50 per event
Upright Piano $25 per event
Piano Tuning $150 per tuning
Orchestra Shell $150 per event
Marley Dance Floor $75 per event
Orchestra Pit Seating Install $150 per event
Theater LCD Projector $100 per event
Theater LCD Projector & Screen $150 per event
Meeting Room LCD Projector $50
Laptop $50
Meeting Room Setup $25 per room
Standard Lobby Setup $75
Lobby Event Clean-up (required for every event) $350 per event
Theater Event Clean-up $400 per event
Black Event Chairs $2 per chair
Stainless Steel Bars $50 per bar
Cocktail Tables $50 (set)
Small PA w/ 1 Mic $25

*The rental rates for Chapman Cultural Center are based on all equipment on an as-is-where-is basis. All changes, movement, or modifications will be at the expense of the lessee.


Special Services

Equipment Rental: Chapman Cultural Center is available to make arrangements for rental of additional production and backline gear, which might be required for the user's performance and are not listed herein. A service fee of 20% will be assessed for this service.
