Put away your camera, loosen up and learn how to capture the essence of the urban landscape with quick, loose marker sketches and playful watercolor washes. For beginners through the professional, this class is a must for lovers of Architecture, travelers, stale artists and hobbyists. Perspective basics, composition; choosing a view point; how to simplify and fake details, building materials, foliage and landscaping; capturing the gestures of individuals and crowds. Most important you will learn how to loosen up, while acquiring a free, yet controlled style all your own. Session 1 will be in the classroom with structured lessons. In Sessions 2 - 4 we’ll hit the streets of Spartanburg with a combination of directed sketching assignments and “on your own” sketching. Plenty of demonstrations, one-on-one instruction and a strong dose of encouragement. 2D Studio classroom is located on the second floor of the Montgomery Building of the Chapman Cultural Center.
