Dance and movement classes for people with Parkinson’s Disease and neurological disorders have stimulated research, an indication that the medical community acknowledges the benefits of dance for persons with Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological disorders including Autism, Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis and stroke.

  • Benefits of Dance
  • Relieves debilitating symptoms

Our instructors have received special training sponsored by the Mark Morris Dance Group and the Brooklyn Parkinson’s group in Brooklyn, New York. Ballet Spartanburg offers the only class of this design in the Upstate for these individual needs. Carlos Aqudelo, Artistic Director and Elaine Lang, teach the class.

Classes meet September - June, every Friday at 10:00 am. at the Ballet Spartanburg Dance Center Studios on the first floor of the East Wing at the Chapman Cultural Center. The first class of the month is followed by a monthly meeting of the Spartanburg Parkinson Association.
