Free Concert of Old-time Bluegrass by Fiddler Craig Owen This Sunday

February 09, 2015 | Press Releases

SPARTANBURG, SC — Regional singer-songwriters perform weekly at Chapman Cultural Center as part of its Sundays Unplugged program. Open 1-5 p.m. every Sunday, the Center provides casual and cultural entertainment for all ages, most notably with its free concert series featuring a different band or musician of varying genres each week, 2-4 p.m. Art and history museums are open with free admission to complement the music.
Craig Owen, old-time bluegrass and folk musician, will perform this Sunday, Feb. 15, as part of Sundays Unplugged, showcasing his talents on both fiddle and acoustic guitar. Having performed in the Spartanburg/Greenville area for years, Owen has played both bluegrass covers and folksy originals in many local venues. He plays bluegrass on fiddle, but plays his own modern folk and easy listening songs on acoustic guitar, pairing his instrumentals with great vocals. Owen has also produced several CDs, including The Smallest of Things and Daydreams and Memories. Patrons can hear him perform this Sunday, 2-4 p.m.

While listening to the Sundays Unplugged performance, patrons can always peruse Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg, Spartanburg Art Museum, Spartanburg Regional History Museum, and the Student Galleries with free admission. Spartanburg Science Center is also open with a small fee.
