Spartanburg, SC —The Artists' Guild of Spartanburg hires Scarlette Tapp as Executive Director. The Artists' Guild of Spartanburg, with more than 60 years of service to Spartanburg’s artist community, is pleased to announce the hiring of Scarlette Tapp as Executive Director. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from University of South Carolina – Upstate, Ms. Tapp brings a strong portfolio of experience to the Guild with more than 10 years in communication and development in the non-profit arena.

Ms. Tapp follows Carrie Caldwell, who took over as Interim Executive Director in July, 2019.  Ms. Caldwell, with her diverse artistic background and deep community ties, will continue with the Guild as the Events Coordinator. Guild chairperson, Patti Rubenzer, states, “The Artist’s Guild of Spartanburg is poised to move forward to provide a stronger, more cohesive, platform for our artists under the leadership of both Scarlette and Carrie. I look forward to strengthening our business plan and building the capacity of this board”.

The Artists' Guild will be hosting their annual Artist’s Going Live event this year at the Chapman Cultural Center. The date will be Thursday, October 29 and will pair local artists and local celebrities together to create art at the event with a live and silent auction at the end of the night.  Attendees will also have a chance to add a personal touch to a community piece.  This year, a spooky theme and costume contest will be incorporated.
