Spartanburg, SC - The Hub City Writers Project will be open for submissions to the Hub City / Emrys Writing Prize from January 13 - March 15th, 2020. The prize is awarded to writers in Spartanburg, Greenville, and Polk counties for excellence in nonfiction and fiction writing. Winners receive full scholarships to the 2020 Writing in Place Conference, held on the weekend of July 10-12th at Wofford College. At Hub City’s annual Writing in Place conference, published novelists, poets, essayists, and literary critics lead a series of workshops over three days that include intense instruction, challenging exercises, and an opportunity for feedback. Registrants must sign up for one genre: poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction. The conference is open to 48 adult writers, and all workshops are generative.
