Hub City Writers Project Writing Contest Now Open

Hub City Writers Project

Spartanburg, SC - The Hub City Writers Project will be open for submissions to the Hub City / Emrys Writing Prize from January 13 - March 15th, 2020. The prize is awarded to writers in​ Spartanburg, Greenville, and Polk counties for excellence in nonfiction and fiction writing. Winners receive full scholarships to the 2020 Writing in Place Conference, held on the weekend of July 10-12th at Wofford College. At Hub City’s annual Writing in Place conference, published novelists, poets, essayists, and literary critics lead a series of workshops over three days that include intense instruction, challenging exercises, and an opportunity for feedback. Registrants must sign up for one genre: poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction. The conference is open to 48 adult writers, and all workshops are generative.
