David Ocasio promoted to Marketing and Communications Director

Spartanburg, SC – August 27, 2019 announces the promotion of David Ocasio to Marketing and Communications Director. David has served the organization as Digital Marketing Coordinator since February 2017 and has advanced the awareness of Chapman Cultural Center’s brand and increased engagement of our community and tourists in all sectors of our cultural community. 

David has developed and implemented innovative strategies to increase donations to the United Arts Campaign and celebrate the scope, excellence and diversity of our cultural community through his editorial leadership of Culture Connect weekly e-newsletter, feature videos celebrating local artists and impact of the arts on quality of life and economic development. David works closely with our anchor cultural agencies and grantees to advance the awareness of their missions and programs through various marketing and communication tools. He has successfully partnered with local businesses, regional tourism publications, Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce, Convention and Visitors Bureau and City of Spartanburg’s marketing team to elevate Spartanburg as a culturally vibrant community through multiple successful print and digital media campaigns. 

David has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Baylor University. David has previous experience developing marketing campaigns and activities in the finance industry. He brings exemplary skills in marketing and social media management and a comprehensive knowledge of the rapidly growing cultural sector in the Upstate.
