Three music experiences in Spartanburg's Downtown Cultural District

August 29, 2019 | Features

Blues Boulevard

Located at 99 S. Church Street, in historic downtown Spartanburg, Blues Boulevard Jazz Club has been designed to be among the best and most nostalgic live music experiences available in the Upstate.  Stellar jazz artists from the Southeast perform every Thursday, Friday & Saturday night.

The club's classic underground location, discreet lighting, local art, and cozy seating create a friendly yet exclusive ambiance.

Sundays Unplugged at Chapman Cultural Center

Chapman Cultural Center is open every Sunday afternoon, 1-5 p.m., to provide casual and cultural experiences for those who want to "unplug."  As an added bonus live music is performed EVERY Sunday from 2:00pm – 4:00pm on the Plaza. Before you grab a seat to listen to music, venture through Chapman’s to explore  Spartanburg Art Museum, Spartanburg Regional History Museum, Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg, and the Student Galleries, all open with free admission.

There is no doubt about it, The Fr8yrd is one of the best outdoor music venues in the Upstate, and we are lucky enough to host them in our Cultural District. The Fr8yrd offers opportunities for local musicians during their open mic night on Tuesday, live music at least 3 days a week, and special events throughout the year. Grab a bite to eat, a cold beverage, and enjoy some great tunes.
