Supporting Spartanburg’s Black Creative Community

June 04, 2020 | Features

Chapman Cultural Center stands in solidarity with our Black colleagues, partners, artists, and community members against injustices that are still taking place.

We are committed to using cultural enrichment through the arts, science, and humanities as a catalyst for change and healing; working to better our community in the fight to end racism, bigotry, and hatred.

While the arts alone can’t solve these issues, they can help us move forward to create a stronger Spartanburg through greater understanding and increased empathy.

We hear the voices of our Black community, we stand with you, and we promise to do all we can to support you and amplify your voices.

Spartanburg is filled with black creatives who contribute to the arts and culture of our city and county. Below, are just a few of the Spartanburg based creatives that have made contributions to making arts and culture diverse.

We want to amplify the voices of the black community and highlight our creatives in Spartanburg. Please join us in celebrating and supporting the black artists that make Spartanburg the vibrant community we know and love.
