April 07, 2015 | Press Releases

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Thirty-six youngsters team up to tell Roald Dahl’s classic adventure tale Fantastic Mr. Fox, adapted for the stage by David Wood, in the fourth and final production of the Spartanburg Youth Theatre’s 2014-2015 season on Friday, April 17, at 4:30 and 7 p.m. and Saturday, April, 18 at 2 p.m.

The story follows the hero, cunning Mr. Fox, who steals food for his family from three mean farmers, Bunce, Boggis and Bean – and what happens when the farmers decide to take their revenge. “Fantastic Mr. Fox is just a whole lot of fun,” SYT managing director Deana Neibert said. She also directs the show. “It’s interactive and exciting, and it teaches kids the importance of teamwork and the joy of sharing with others.”

Fantastic Mr. Fox “digs in” at Chapman Cultural Center’s theater on April 17 at 4:30 and 7 p.m. and April 18 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $9 for students, and can be purchased by phone at (864) 542-2787 or online at ChapmanCulturalCenter.org.
