Public CV-19 Procedures & Recommendations
Chapman Cultural Center
1. Social Distancing
1.1. Social distancing of at least six feet should be observed by all visitors
1.2. Visitors should attempt to ride elevators alone if possible
1.3. Visitors should utilize restrooms with no other person present for social distancing purposesif possible
2. Disinfection and Safety
2.1. Janitorial Services cleans and disinfects the CCC campus five days a week for public spaces, Including restrooms, public surfaces, and hallways.
2.2. Informational signage is placed on exterior doors and common areas notifying visitors of policies.
2.3. No brochures, magazines, or other reading materials are permitted to be left in common areas. All items must be on designated racks only.
2.4. Individual organizations on campus are responsible for disinfecting their personal office spaces throughtout the day.
3. Visitor check-in procedures
3.1. The reception desk will be staffed Monday – Saturday 10-5 pm. Lobbies or reception areas should be occupied in limited quantities.
3.2. All visitors entering the CCC campus should check-in at the reception desk,
3.3. Visitors are only allowed in lobbies. No entry shall be allowed into work areas or private offices unless previously scheduled.
3.4. No children shall be allowed in any CCC offices.
3.5. We encourage visitors to self-check their temperature and screen for relevant symptoms before visiting the CCC campus.
4. Hygiene
4.1. Wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer. Sanitizer is located in designated areas throughout the CCC campus.
4.2. Visitors should avoid touching their face when possible.
4.3. Sneeze or cough into a tissue, or the inside of your elbow.
4.4. Face coverings are required while inside the CCC campus. Face coverings are available at the CCC front desk in limited quantities.
4.5. If you feel sick, please stay home.
Parents are responsible for making sure their children abide by the rules above.

With the latest announcement by Governor Henry McMaster allowing attraction facilities to open throughout South Carolina at limited capacity, Chapman Cultural Center has made the decision to partially re-open our campus.
Beginning Tuesday, June 2nd, the Carlos Dupre Moseley Building of the Chapman Cultural Center will re-open to the public including the following organizations:
Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg
Spartanburg Art Museum
Spartanburg County Historical Association Museum
Chapman Cultural Center is committed to providing a safe and engaging environment for the Spartanburg Community to experience the arts. In the time being, we are working to finalize safety and logistical protocols based on SC DHEC recommendations to ensure the health and well being of our visitors.
Upon opening, we will be encouraging all visitors to maintain social distancing and avoid close contact with others in addition to other measures.

In light of the most recent government recommendations and to protect the health and well-being of our community, Chapman Cultural Center has made the decision to close our campus to the public effective Tuesday, March 17 at 5pm, until further notice.
This closure includes Mayfair Art Studios, as well as the following organizations located on our campus:
Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg
Ballet Spartanburg
Spartanburg Art Museum
Spartanburg County Historical Association
Spartanburg Little Theatre
Spartanburg Philharmonic
Spartanburg Science Center
Spartanburg Youth Theatre
In addition, we are working with each organization to reschedule the performances and events that we know our community loves. Please keep your tickets as they will be transferable towards the rescheduled performances.
At Chapman Cultural Center, we truly believe in the transformative power of the arts and hope they serve as a great healer and reduce stress in this time of uncertainty. We hope that you will seek creative outlets in your time at home with music, dance, writing, drawing, painting, sewing, knitting, sculpting, carving, or simply reading. On behalf of Chapman Cultural Center, as a non-profit organization and united cultural community with the ultimate mission to serve people and our community, our first priority is public health and the prevention of the spread of the Coronavirus. We are monitoring the situation closely. It is understood at this time that it may take up to 14 days before the virus symptoms are shown in a person. With this knowledge, social distancing must be a first level of defense to decrease the spread of this virus in our community.
Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, through March 27, 2020, the Chapman Cultural Center campus, as well as Mayfair Art Studios, will be operating with the CDC guidelines that public events of 50 or more people will be postponed and that social distancing and cleaning precautions continue to be top priorities.
Chapman Cultural Center and all organizations residing at Chapman Cultural Center are united in this decision including:

We are hopeful that we can reschedule the performances and events that our community enjoys. Please keep your tickets as we are hopeful to work with each cultural organization to resolve their unique scheduling for events and performances together. We are taking each day step-by-step as it is unknown the duration of this public health crisis.
We are sorry to have to take this step as we know the arts are a great healer and reduce stress in times of crisis. We hope that you will seek creative outlets in your own home with music, dance, writing, drawing, painting, sewing, knitting, sculpting, carving or enjoying time with pets.

Chapman Cultural Center is actively monitoring the information regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus) as part of our commitment to the health and well-being of our community and patrons. We are in contact with our local health agencies for information and guidance on the following adjustments to our operations.
The Chapman Cultural Center campus will remain open and continue welcoming guests as usual. The cleanliness of our facility is of the utmost importance and we continue to have our facility cleaned daily.
Additionally, we will implement preventive measures including:
Hand sanitizer will be available for patrons at the Box Office and Will Call, as well as the reception area of each building
High-touch areas (door handles, railings, etc.) are being disinfected
Exterior doors of Theater Lobby will be left open before and after performances to minimize contact
Main entrance doors on campus will remain open during business hours to minimize contact
