Spartanburg Soaring! International Kite Festival is almost here! Get excited, because this year's festival promises to be the best one yet! To help out we've laid out the 5 key stops you should make to maximize your experience to have the best day ever!

This year we have plenty of Community Organizations stopping by the festival to make sure there is something everyone can enjoy! Community Organizations participating include: Hatcher Garden Woodland PreserveLogos TheatreSpartanburg Area ConservancySpartanburg Swing, and Spartanburg Earth Day, SAMBA, WSPA, Arrowhead Design Company, and Imagination Station!

Kite Flying Fields!


In spring 2014, Chapman Cultural Center launched a community-wide initiative called Spartanburg Soaring! to encourage creativity, promote healthy outdoor activity, and to build civic pride. Using kites as a common theme, Spartanburg Soaring! engaged cultural curiosity and promoted active play through activities and events all across the city. The kite festival takes place in and around the Chapman Cultural Center each spring when hundreds of colorful kites fill the skies above Spartanburg.

Join us April 13 from 11am - 5pm for live music, great food trucks, and a makers market. Kites are available for purchase from Imagination Station, or you can bring a kite from home!
