The Chapman Cultural Center plays a vital role in the presentation of the arts and culture to the schools in Upstate, South Carolina. Each year, artists are placed in the classrooms, and thousands of students are brought to the Chapman Cultural Center to experience theatre, music, dance, science, art and history. To encourage students to be more creative, their visual artwork is often proudly displayed. The primary student galleries at the Chapman Cultural Center are the main hallways of the first and second floors of the Carlos Moseley Building (often called the West Building). Each month, a different school, school district, or student group has work hung in these galleries, which are free for public viewing. Generally, there is a free public reception for these exhibits each month.
