The Spartanburg Science Center exhibits have been developed in accordance with the South Carolina Science Academic Standards and will place the visitor at the center of the experience. Each experience connects the visitor with a career in science. The exhibit is organized into four themed areas:
My Body Visitors will learn about Health and Wellness through a group of highly interactive exhibits exploring basic hygiene, body systems (skeletal, circulatory, nervous, respiratory, digestive, and muscular), and nutrition.
My Garage A workshop-style gallery with hands-on exhibits demonstrating basic Physics concepts. Hands-on activities will highlight the properties of simple machines, the principles of motion, energy consumption, electric magnets and magnetic fields, fiber optics, engineering bridges, and more.
My Backyard A living gallery of the Life Sciences, with a centralized focus on regional flora, fauna, and ecosystems, as well as a collection of live aquatic and land-based organisms. A few of the features include: a mobile video microscope which allows visitors to view small samples of organisms; a greenhouse with live specimens; an "Animal Wall of Fame" to help students identify whether or not specific species are native to the region; drinking water systems display; and much more.
My Neighborhood A display of a collection of Earth Science-related objects, designed as a multi-purpose classroom which can be used for subject specific programs requested by visiting groups.
