SYNOPSIS
From the opening scene you will be riveted by live jazz music, then captivated by all that’s revealed as this light-hearted, history-evoking, music- filled story unfolds; one lovely layer at a time.  An unexpected twist of fate and an inherited piece of commercial property bring to life the memories of our feisty protagonist, Miss Sandra Valentine, whose truth evokes a blissful collision between the past and present for two families connected by a not-so forgotten place called, The Cellar.

PURPOSE OF PLAY
Mrs. Hilton-Williams wrote this play in an effort to fulfill part of her own dreams of becoming a Writer/Playwright..However, the greater impetus behind the creation of the play lies in its’ intention to encourage the re-examination of our core values regarding family, the restoration of a truly optimistic outlook on the lives given us to experience and finally, the rekindling of our belief in the infinite possibilities that lie within dreams that we’ve either deferred or dismissed altogether.

GIVING BACK TO COMMUNITY CITY BY CITY
As a touring production, Mrs. Hilton-Williams believes it’s a moral imperative that she gives back to cities. To that end for the Spartanburg community, Mrs. Hilton-Williams has successfully partnered with the Arts Partnership, the Spartanburg Housing Authority and the Spartanburg Boys and Girls Club to provide complimentary seating to 100 selected 6th to 12th graders who reside in underserved communities and/or participate in the Boys and Girls Club Theatre and Arts programs. The students will also be invited to a private “dreamers reception,” which will give these students an opportunity to celebrate and interact with the cast and crew exclusively on the 29th.

Mrs. Hilton-Williams will also provide a local college/university student with a $500.00 scholarship based on need and circumstance, which will be presented on opening night from play proceeds as well as a percentage of the net proceeds from tickets sales being donated to a local agency that provides programs that provide musical and/or theatre arts education in the Greater Spartanburg community.

REVIEWS/QUOTES
The National Black Theatre Festival Readers Theatre Series Director, Garland Thompson says, “This story has warmth and fond remembrance with characters whose natural charm is easily felt and through them, Miss Hilton works to tell a good story and honor the great ladies of jazz.”
After reading and seeing Miss Hilton’s play at the National Black Theatre Festival, Ivy-League University Professor Morgan Peters (University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth) decided to incorporate the script as a part of his ENG 272 spring course offering. Professor Peters said, “A Month of Sundays, remembering Women in Jazz is a universal story with historical and educational significance.”
