Community Grants - Artists and Organizations
Project Year 2011-2012

The Arts Partnership’s Community Grant Program invests general financial support in cultural projects impacting Spartanburg County communities. There is a total of $12,000 annually to allocate to project grants. Half of that funding is provided by the South Carolina Arts Commission; the other half is funding by The Arts Partnership.

This grant program provides limited funding for cultural projects to nonprofit organizations and professional artists in Spartanburg County.  For the purposes of this program, eligible cultural projects are those that actively engage the Performing, Visual, Literary, or Folk Arts. Grants generally range in size from $500 to $1,000.

The kinds of cultural projects eligible for funding include, but are not limited to:
  • Small or pilot cultural activities; 
  • New or developing programs; 
  • Organizational development; 
  • Professional development; 
  • Established annual events that serve special needs of Spartanburg community; 
  • Special projects of high artistic quality which meet one or more of The Arts Partnership’s goals.

GRANT APPLICATION AND REVIEW PROCESS
These grants are awarded on a quarterly basis, with application deadlines of October 20, January 13,  and March 9.
Applications are reviewed, funding recommendations are made to the Board of Trustees of The Arts Partnership, and notifications of awards are usually made within four-six weeks of the application deadline. Funded projects should be completed prior to June 30th of the fiscal year in which the funds were provided.
